BASEBALL

  • FALMOUTH 3, SANFORD 2: Harper Drosdick tied the game with a two-run single in the seventh inning and Jacoby Porter singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth as Falmouth completed its regular season with a 3-2 victory at Sanford.

    Sanford broke a scoreless tie with two unearned runs off Porter in the fifth inning. Cayden Gendron capped the rally with an RBI single.

    Gendron and Scott Robitaille both had two hits for Sanford. Brady Adams went the distance on the mound, allowing six hits.

    Tyler Simmons got the victory in relief, striking out seven in 3 2/3 scoreless innings.


  • RICHMOND 16, CARRABEC 0: The Bobcats (15-0) remained undefeated by roughing up the Cobras (5-9) in five innings in North Anson.

    Cale Harrington homered and drove in three runs and Ben Fournier had two hits, three RBI and scored three times for Richmond. Cody Fournier also had two hits and two RBI. Ben and Cody Fournier each had a double.

    Brady Alexander pitched all five innings for the Bobcats, striking out seven, walking one and allowing four hits.

    Zack Davis finished with two hits for Carrabec.


  • SKOWHEGAN 5, MESSALONSKEE 4: Silas Tibbetts pitched a complete game two-hitter, Jack Fitzpatrick smacked three hits, and the River Hawks topped the Eagles in a KVAC A North showdown in Madison.

    Jason Aubin and Grant Cram had two hits each for Skowhegan (6-10). Miller Foss had a single and two RBI.

    Denny Martin homered for Messalonskee (8-7).


  • SOUTH PORTLAND 6, THORNTON ACADEMY 2: Hudson Iacuessa was 2 for 2 with two RBI and also earned the win as the Red Riots (11-4) beat the Golden Trojans (12-4) in Saco.

    Iacuessa pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out five and walking six.

    Cam Barrett added a single, a double and two RBI, and Brady Main also had two hits.

    Brennan Tabor and Colton Cross each drove in a run for Thornton.


SOFTBALL

  • CAMDEN HILLS 3, OXFORD HILLS 2: The Windjammers (11-4) scored twice in the first inning, then added an insurance run in the seventh before holding off a comeback bid by the Vikings (12-4) in Paris.

    Adrina Pedro hit an RBI single in the first inning and Audrey Strong singled home a run in the seventh for Camden Hills. Maya Stone earned the win, allowing three hits while striking out three and walking three.

    Peyton Cleveland produced an RBI single and later scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh. Cleveland also pitched a complete game, allowing four hits while striking out two and walking one.


  • CARRABEC 16, RICHMOND 6: The Cobras plated nine runs in the second inning en route to a mercy-rule win over the Bobcats in North Anson.

    Aiyana Tibbetts celebrated senior day with two hits — including a home run — and five RBI for Carrabec (12-2). Josephine Scheve and Jillian Robinson added two hits for the Cobras.

    Nicole Lindell had two hits for Richmond (7-9), while Brooklyn Harper and Charlotte Crawson doubled.


  • ERSKINE ACADEMY 1, WINSLOW 0: The Eagles closed out regular-season play with a walk-off win over the Black Raiders in KVAC B play in South China.

    Kelsie Dunn pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts for Erskine (8-8) and smacked two hits at the plate. Kammie Thompson also had two hits for the Eagles.

    Grace Melvin tossed a complete game with no earned runs for Winslow (5-11).


  • LISBON 14, WINTHROP/MARANACOOK 1: The Greyhounds (10-4) put the Rambling Bears (4-12) away with an 11-run bottom of the fourth inning, triggering the mercy rule in a five-inning victory in Lisbon.

    Winthrop/Maranacook scored in the top of the first inning when leadoff hitter Ella Rice reached base and was driven home by Cyara Harriman. The Rambling Bears’ 1-0 lead held up until Lisbon plated three runs in the third.

    Alivia Saunders led the Greyhounds’ offense with three hits, three RBI and three runs scored. Brynn Chase had three hits and two RBI, and Aubrianna Bright singled and knocked in two runs.

    Lisbon pitchers Mackenzie Eaton (two strikeouts in four innings) and Ava Kottmann (one strikeout in one inning) combined on a two-hitter.

    Rice had both of Winthrop/Maranacook’s hits, including a triple.


  • NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 15, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Lily Fortin and Jordan Nash both tripled with two runners aboard, and the Panthers (12-3) were helped by eight walks in a three-inning win over the Seagulls (4-11) in Yarmouth.

    Fortin also was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits and one walk.

    NYA’s Caroline Matusovich was the only player with two hits.


  • THORNTON ACADEMY 17, MASSABESIC 11: Allison Dattilo and Allison Marines each drove in three runs, the Golden Trojans (8-8) scored in every inning as they ended their regular season with a win over the Mustangs (7-8) in Saco.

    Ella Gerrish homered and drove in three runs for Massabesic, which erased a 10-4 deficit with seven runs in the fifth inning. Thornton quickly answered, though, with the runs in the bottom half and four more in the sixth.

    Marines reached base five times, going 3 for 3 with two walks and five runs scored. Dattilo, Miya McIntosh and Wako Matsuda each had two hits, and McIntosh, Sophia Bogardus and Tess Frager all had two RBI.

    Massabesic’s Ada Tassinari was 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored.


  • YORK 14, GREELY 6: The Wildcats (14-0) pounded out 19 hits, including four each by Piper Cantonese and winning pitcher Sarah Orso, on their way to a win over the Rangers (10-5) in Cumberland.

    Cantonese finished with three RBI and three runs scored, Orso had two RBI and two runs, and Maddie Fitzgerald contributed three hits and two RBI. Maren Robinson, Nya Avery, Hannah Cleary each added two hits.

    York broke the game open with a nine-run fifth inning.

    Sophie Smith and Mia Stewart both had two hits for Greely.

    • CHEVERUS 17, DEERING 4: Sophia St. John and Sophia Tamulevich each scored five goals for the Stags (10-3) in a win over the visiting Rams (1-13).

      Sydney Brunelle and Zoey Radford each added two goals. Annie Vigure, Jaylee Radford and Ava Lewis were the other Cheverus goal scorers.

      Deering got two goals from Sofia Nieves and one each from Maya Zager and Quincey Cummings.
