A SOUTH SEMIFINAL: #5-CHEVERUS VS. #1-SCARBOROUGH

Lana Djuranovic’s two first-half goals lifted top-ranked Scarborough to a 2-1 win over fifth-seeded Cheverus in a Class A South girls’ soccer semifinal Friday night in Scarborough.

The Red Storm (16-0) will face No. 2 Gorham or No. 3 Windham in the regional final Tuesday in Sanford.

Djuranovic connected on a 25-yard blast in the 11th minute, then sent the rebound of an Ali Mokriski corner kick into the net with under five minutes remaining in the first half.

The Stags (12-5) cut into the deficit just before halftime when Annie Vigue scored.

Evelyn Rush made 15 saves for Cheverus, while Sophia Rinaldi stopped three shots for Scarborough.
