Brady Inman ran 12 yards for the go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth quarter, lifting the Capers (3-3) over the Hornets (2-4) in Cape Elizabeth.
Cape never trailed, though Leavitt twice erased seven-point deficits.
The Capers grabbed the lead on a 45-yard run by Eli Halter in the first quarter.
Leavitt tied it in the second quarter when Keegan Reny scored from the 1. Cape answered with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Inman to Aidan Connolly with just over a minute remaining in the first half, but Leavitt then drove the length of the field, capped by Brock Poulin’s 6-yard run as time expired.
