BONNY EAGLE AT WESTBROOK

October 9, 2024

The Blue Blazes (5-4-1) scored three consecutive goals in the first half and held off the Scots (1-10) in Westbrook.

Bonny Eagle scored in the 11th minute when Arlo Libby sent a high kick from midfield behind the back line and near the goalmouth, and Peyton Lee punched in for a 1-0 lead.

In the 18th minute Paddy Walsh directed a back pass from the top of box to Justin Filatrault, who sent a low shot that skipped past Bonny Eagle goalie Asa Proctor (eight saves) as he dived to his left.

With 14:36 left in the half, Mustafa Saker pushed a pass from the left wing to Joel Whitehead, who sent a 25-yard floater under the crossbar for a 2-1 lead.

Walsh converted a penalty kick with 13:33 left in the half to make it 3-1.

An own goal with 10:49 left in the game made it interesting, but Westbrook was able contain the Scots the rest of the way.

Westbrook reserve goalie Isaac Crabtree made six saves in his first varsity start.
