Autumn Freeman turned in a pair of hat tricks and Mallorie Bourret scored the other goal in the No. 5 Falcons’ 7-0 victory over the 12th-ranked Lynx (0-15) in a Class C North opening round.

Mountain Valley (12-2-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the half and then scored four more goals in the second half. Freeman’s six-goal performance and an assist meant she had a hand in every goal. Bourret and Alana Young each had an assist.

Goalie Brooke Brown never had to make a save. The Lynx had no shots on net. The Falcons head to Orono on Tuesday.
