Carson Black and Grady Cummings combined on a one-hitter as the top-seeded Hawks (17-0) beat the ninth-seeded Bulldogs (7-11) in five innings in a Class C South quarterfinal at Hiram.

Caleb Vacchiano put the 10-run rule into effect with a three-run homer in the fifth.

Black struck out eight in 3 2/3 hitless innings, and Cummings allowed one hit while striking out three.
