The seventh-seeded Golden Trojans (10-7) took control with three runs in the bottom of the fourth and added three more in the sixth as they defeated the 10th-seeded Mustangs (6-11) in a Class A South prelim at Saco.
Renee Gonneville went 3 for 4 and scored twice for Thornton Academy, and Izzy Miner and Emma Barnes each added a pair of hits.
Sophia Bogardus went the distance, allowing two runs on 10 hits.
Katelyn Boissonneault had three hits to lead for Massabesic.
