Baylor Wilkinson drove in three runs, including an RBI single during a five-run sixth inning as top-seeded Biddeford pulled away for a 10-6 win over fourth-seeded Gorham in a Class A South softball semifinal Saturday in Biddeford.
The reigning state champions were clinging to a 5-4 lead before they strung together five consecutive hits in the bottom of the sixth. A two-run single by Jaylah Trottier helped Biddeford break the game open and advance to a rematch with No. 2 Windham in the regional final on Tuesday.
Wilkinson, Hannah Lappin and Eliza Doyon paced Biddeford’s 15-hit attack with three hits apiece. Lappin drove in two runs.
Amber Bretton homered and had four RBI for Gorham against Biddeford pitcher Charlotte Donovan who gave up nine hits but struck out 12.
