Melissa Mayo singled home Margo Tremblay in the sixth inning and pitched a four-hitter as the third-seeded Lakers (14-4) beat the No. 2 Tigers (15-3) in a Class B South semifinal at Gardiner.
Tremblay drew a one-out walk from Gardiner pitcher Raylee Gilbert, stole second, then scored on Mayo’s second hit of the game.
Lake Region will play for the regional title Tuesday at St. Joseph’s College against top-seeded York.
Mayo struck out six and walked one. Gilbert also allowed only four hits. She finished with 13 strikeouts, and was 2 for 3 at the plate with a double.
