Maddy Raymond and McKayla Kortes finished with three hits apiece as the top-seeded Wildcats (17-1) returned to the Class B South final with a victory over the fourth-seeded Knights (14-4) in York.

“The girls came flying off the field. They knew exactly what was at stake today,” said Wildcats Coach Kevin Giannino, whose team lost to Gardiner in last year’s regional final. “The first thing we said was ‘We’re going back.’ … I know that was important to them.”

York broke a 4-4 tie with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Raymond and Kortes each drove in runs during the inning, as did Ella Moon with a double.

Emily Estes and Nya Avery chipped in with two hits apiece.

Khloe O’Leary, Maddie McGlauflin and Alyssa Hart all had two hits for Poland.
