Sisters Jaydn and Jazmine Pingree paced a potent offense for the fourth-seeded Phoenix (13-4) in a Class C South quarterfinal win over the Raiders (10-8) at Central Maine Community College in Auburn.

Jazmine Pingree kicked the offense off with a three-run single in the bottom of the first inning. Jaydn Pingree hit singles in the first, second, fourth and fifth innings, when Spruce Mountain scored three, two, three and five runs, respectively.

Makinlee Holt, Rylee Turner, Mallory Clark and Leah Burgess all were repeat hitters for the Phoenix, who rounded up 15 hits as a team.

Turner pitched a complete game, allowing ten hits while striking out eight and walking one batter.

Oak Hill tried mounting a comeback with three runs in the top of the seventh. Kelsey Young, Ava Rivet and Izzy Whitaker each had RBIs in the inning. Whitaker had three hits in the game, and Aubrey McElhaney stole two bases.

Young got the start and struck out three batters in 3 2/3 innings. Whitaker pitched the final 2 1/3 frames.
