Isaiah Cardinal scored 18 points – including 10 in the first quarter – to lead fourth-seeded Seacoast Christian to a 53-30 win over fifth-seeded Temple Academy in a Class D South quarterfinal at the Augusta Civic Center.
Cardinal’s early outburst helped Seacoast build an 18-6 lead after one quarter.
Eli Cardinal chipped in with 11 points. Seth Vega had six points and eight steals for the Guardians (7-12), who will either play top-seeded Forest Hills or Pine Tree Academy in the semifinals on Thursday.
Peyton Reckards scored 10 points for Temple.
