Wes Piper made a leaping grab on a line drive to left and doubled off the runner at first to end the game as the Rangers (5-0) shut out the Capers (3-2) in Cumberland.

Wyatt Soucie led off the bottom of the first with a single, stole second and scored on a single by Ben Kyles for the game’s only run.

Gehrig Donnelly pitched a complete game, allowing five hits while striking out six and walking two. He also had a pair of singles.

Cape Elizabeth’s Brady Inman also went the distance, allowing one run on three hits while striking out nine and walking one.
