Brady Adams pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and a walk as the Spartans (5-4) downed the Trojans (8-1) in Saco.
Tyler Do scored two runs, Scott Robitaille drove in two runs, and Cayden Gendron had two hits for Sanford.
Jacob Fish and Noah Fullerton got the only hits for Thornton, which is ranked No. 2 in the Varsity Maine Top 10.
