Logan Doughty scored a tiebreaking goal late in the third quarter, and the Rams pulled away from the visiting Capers (0-2) to win their season opener.

Haylie Nicely and Londyn Wright led Gorham with three goals apiece. Doughty and Kennady Peary each added two goals, Natalie Miner, Kat LaPierre and Piper Forgues also scored, and the Rams benefited from an own goal.

Gorham goalie Madison Tibbals made eight saves.

Campbell DeGeorge and Libby Hooper accounted for all of Cape Elizabeth’s goals, including five by DeGeorge.
