Bree Griffin led the Cougars’ onslaught with five goals and an assist, and Lily Huntley continued her hot streak with four goals and a pair of assists in the victory in Newport.
Grace Allen scored twice and Nina Bogar and Annabell Fearon each contributed a goal for Mt. Blue (5-3). Abbi Donald assisted on three goals, and goalie Gwen Lesperance stopped six of the eight shots she faced.
Haylee Ramasco and Elle Toulouse each scored for MCI/Nokomis (0-8), and Hailey Callahan made 14 saves.
