EDWARD LITTLE 6, MESSALONSKEE 5, 8 INNINGS
Lexi Kelsea drove in Emily Poulin on a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth, then Chloe LeBlanc shut down the Eagles to give the Red Eddies (2-0) an extra-innings victory in Oakland.
Poulin reached on a one-out triple. LeBlanc recorded two of her nine strikeouts in the bottom of half of the eighth.
Lexi Kelsea finished with with three hits and three RBI. Kassidy Lobb also had three hits for Edward Little, and Nellie Feeney and Lauren Bolduc each had two singles, an RBI and scored a run.
Madison Wilson led Messalonskee (0-2) with a double and a single. She also struck out seven batters.
