Molly Takatsu pitched a three-hitter and had two hits and two RBI as the Tigers (5-9) defeated the Eagles (5-9) in five innings in Newcastle.
Taryn Nichols also had two hits and two RBI, and Brynnlea Chaisson and Sophia Marrone each contributed two hits and one RBI for Gardiner, which scored five runs in the second inning and six in the fifth to force the mercy rule.
