The Mustangs (9-0) remained undefeated, but they had their hands full with the Falcons (7-3) in a Class C South contest in Monmouth.
Monmouth pitcher Shannah Parsons struck out five, walked one and limited Mountain Valley to three hits while not allowing an earned run. At the plate, Parsons had a game-high two hits with a single and a double.
One of the Falcons’ three hits was a double by Hayden Chase.
