Samantha McPhail belted two home runs to lead the Vikings (5-2) to a five-inning victory over the Cougars (3-1) in Paris.
One of McPhail’s homers was a two-run shot in the bottom of the fifth when Oxford Hills plated eight runs to put the mercy rule into effect. Attie Cambell also homered in the fifth, and she had one of the Vikings’ three doubles in the game, along with Cameron Mayhan and Gigi DeVivo.
Peyton Cleveland pitched the first three innings for Oxford Hills, striking out two and earning the win before being relieved by Kyeria Morse, who fanned five batters in two scoreless innings.
Maddie Cote and Leah Merrill each had two hits for Mt. Blue.
