Phoebe Paradis recorded 10 strikeouts and had four hits for the Knights in their season-opening win over the Capers in Cape Elizabeth.
Olivia Rioux added three hits and Carly Jarvais had two — a double and a triple — for Poland (1-0). The Knights’ five-inning victory was highlighted by a 10-run third inning.
Molly McKibben hit a triple for Cape Elizabeth (1-0). Paradis allowed only four hits to the Capers.
