Alex Allain pitched a four-hitter and was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored, leading the eighth-seeded Raiders (10-8) over the top-seeded Capers (13-4) in a Class B South quarterfinal in Cape Elizabeth.
Michael Malia also drove in a run for Fryeburg, which advances to play fourth-seeded Medomak Valley in the semifinals. Allain struck out eight and didn’t issue a walk.
Cape’s Finn Connolly hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh. Brady Inman went the distance on the mound, allowing eight hits and one earned run while striking out eight and walking one.
