EDWARD LITTLE 7, BREWER 4, 8 INNINGS
The seventh-seeded Red Eddies (12-6) scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to keep their underdog run going with a Class A North semifinal win over the third-seeded Witches (12-6) in Brewer.
Edward Little will face No. 1 Bangor (14-4) in the regional final at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Central Maine Community College, with has served as the Red Eddies’ home field the past few seasons.
Edward Little relief pitcher Chloe LeBlanc earned the win by striking out five batters after taking over in the fifth inning. Starter Kassidy Lobb fanned three.
Lobb and LeBlanc were supported by 16 hits, including three by Lauren Bolduc. Freshman Elizabeth Galway drove in four runs on two hits, and Lexi Kelsea (double), Emily Poulin, Allie Michaud and LeBlanc also had two hits apiece. Lobb and Nellie Feeney each knocked in a run.
Jordin Williams homered, Jillian Ford tripled and singled, and Audrey Loupin had two hits and an RBI for Brewer. Sara Young struck out five in seven innings.
