Aiyanna Tibbetts’ three-run home run gave the Cobras the lead and sparked a nine-run sixth inning that boosted Carrabec to a Class D South quarterfinal win over the Cavaliers in North Anson
Fifth-seeded Valley (10-6) plated three runs in the top of the sixth to take a 6-4 lead. Tibbetts’ homer put fourth-seeded Carrabec (15-2) up 7-6, and the Cobras added six more runs in the frame.
Carrabec’s Amiya Tibbetts finished with a game-high three hits, including a double, drove in two runs and scored four. Karen Baker had two hits and two RBI, and Ava Welch (double) and Josephine Scheve contributed a pair of hits each.
The Cavaliers were led by Liana Hartwell, who doubled and knocked in two runs. Delia Hill (double) and Karlee Cates added two hits apiece.
Carrabec advances to face No. 1 Buckfield (16-1) in the D South semifinals on Saturday.
