The top-seeded Wildcats (18-1) broke open a close game with nine runs in the fourth inning as they eliminated the fifth-seeded Capers (13-6) in a Class B South semifinal at York.

Jill Carr highlighted York’s big inning with a two-run double. Alexis Osterhaus and McKayla Kortes each had two hits and two RBI as the Wildcats advanced to play No. 2 Gardiner in the regional final Tuesday night at the University of Southern Maine.

Hannah Mosher had two hits, including a double, for Cape Elizabeth, the defending state champion.
