The Will Doyle-to-Miles Lilly connection has played a big part in the Telstar football team’s scorching start to the season.

Doyle, a junior quarterback, tossed four touchdown passes to Lilly, a senior, in the Rebels’ 38-0 eight-man football 38-0 victory over Boothbay on Saturday.

Doyle-to-Lilly opened the scoring with a 60-yard scoring strike in the first quarter. The pair hooked up on the two-point conversion to give Telstar (2-0) an 8-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Lilly had TD receptions of 15 and 10 yards. In between those two scores, Brayden Stevens had a 7-yard touchdown run for the Rebels. Gavinn Martin ran in the two-point conversion after Stevens’ touchdown and Stevens did likewise following Lilly’s third TD of the game, and Telstar took a 30-0 lead over the Seahawks (1-1) into halftime.

In the third quarter, Doyle’s fourth touchdown pass to Lilly was a 20-yarder. Doyle then ran in the two-point conversion to wrap up the scoring.

Stevens also had an interception for the Rebels’ defense, which Tim O’Connor said continually stopped Boothbay’s running game and forced turnovers on downs.

The Rebels, who opened the season with a 62-6 win over Traip Academy, next week play at Old Orchard Beach.
