The Bucks (1-0) scored a combined 12 runs in the sixth and seventh innings to pull away from the Phoenix (0-2) on Friday in Jay.
Kayden Haylock had four hits, including a home run, and Emma Stevens had four singles in the win for Buckfield. Carmen Crocket was the winning pitcher.
Spruce Mountain took a 5-3 lead with a five-run fourth inning. The Bucks tied the game with two runs in the fifth and then pulled away with five in the sixth and seven in the seventh.
Jaydn Pingree led Spruce Mountain’s offense with two hits.
