Jayden Perreault singled into left field to drive in the game-winning run for the No. 7 Phoenix in a Class C South first-round playoff victory over the No. 10 Cougars in Livermore Falls.
Spruce Mountain (12-5) will play No. 2 Sacopee Valley in the Class C South quarterfinals.
With the game tied at 5-5, Garrett Hunt doubled before Perreault’s single scored Hunt and advanced the Phoenix.
Eli Moffett, Max Labonte, Hunt and Perreault had two hits each in the win, while Isaac Parker struck out nine batters in 6 1/3 innings of work on the mound.
Trenton Hutchinson and Drew Collins each notched a pair of hits for Dirigo (9-8).
