CAPE ELIZABETH 15, FALMOUTH 9

Nick Laughlin scored five times and Cape Elizabeth (11-0) broke away in the second half to win 15-9 at Falmouth (9-2) in a boys’ lacrosse game Saturday afternoon at Falmouth.

The Navigators led 3-1 early, but a 5-0 run put the Capers ahead to stay. Cape Elizabeth led 6-5 at halftime, then dominated the second half on the way to its 17th straight victory.

Sam Cochran added three goals, and Connor Goss and Alex van Huystee both scored twice for the No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine poll.

The Navigators, ranked No. 2 in the Varsity Maine poll, got three goals apiece from Gio Guerrette and Joey Guerrette. Drew Noyes made 12 saves for Falmouth, which had won six straight since a 9-7 loss to Cape Elizabeth on April 29.
