Kade Ippolito’s layup with .6 seconds left in the eighth overtime gave Greely a 117-115 win over Fryeburg Academy on Tuesday night in Cumberland.

Fryeburg (9-6) erased a 10-point deficit in the final two minutes of regulation, which ended with the teams tied at 61-61. Neither team led by more than five points from that point on.

Fryeburg appeared on the verge of victory in the fifth overtime, but Greely’s Tyler Pettengill tied it at 100-100 with a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Pettengill finished with 39 points, including nine 3-pointers, before fouling out in the eighth overtime. All but 12 of his points were in overtime. Seamus Raftice also fouled out after scoring 23 points, Ethan Michaud added 21, Jackson Leding had 12 and Ippolito finished with 10 for Greely (7-7).

Gunnar Saunders led Fryeburg with 40 points. Lorenzo Catana Vallemani scored 29, Camden Johson had 15 and Joao Teixeira Orlando finished with 10.
