The Golden Trojans (9-2) scored 18 straight points in the second quarter, then held on to defeat the Rams (4-8) in Saco.
Gorham led 17-12 after the first quarter before Thornton surged into a 34-26 halftime lead. Though the Rams continually threatened in the second half, they never tied or went ahead.
William Davies scored 19 points and Braden Camire added 12 for Thornton.
Ashton Leclerc and Caden Smith each scored 19 points for Gorham, both with five 3-pointers.
