Spencer Laurendeau and Jacob Shields each ran for two touchdowns as the Trojans (2-0) scored 44 unanswered points to topple the Patriots (0-2) in an 8-man Large School game in Bar Harbor.

Gray-New Gloucester opened the scoring on an 86-yard touchdown pass from Kobi Conant to Nick Geer in the first quarter.

Laurendeau scored his first rushing touchdown from 10 yards out to tie the game 8-8 after one quarter.

Shields (15 yards) and Laurendeau (10) both ran in second-quarter touchdowns for a 20-8 halftime lead for Mount Desert Island. Laurendeau had 168 yards rushing in the first half.

He scored the only touchdown of the third quarter on defense, returning an interception 75 yards for a score.

Shields and Lincoln Gray had fourth-quarter touchdown runs to push the Trojans’ lead to 44-8. Gray-New Gloucester rounded out the scoring with the clock running late in the fourth quarter.
