The Hornets showed off a multipronged rushing attack in their season-opening victory over the Broncos in Turner.
Mason Henderson opened Leavitt’s (1-0) season with a pair of first-quarter touchdown runs. Nathan Karkos added two TD runs, while Randan Hutchinson, Brody Poland and Cayden Bubier each ran in a score.
Poland and Henderson each had an interception on defense. The Hornets’ new starting quarterback, sophomore Landon Marquis, completed 8 of 10 passes for 85 yards.
Hampden’s (0-1) score came on a long pass over the top by Gavin Monyok to Julian McEwen that went for 66 yards in the third quarter.
