LEWISTON 6, CAMDEN HILLS 5

ROCKPORT — Lewiston scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to overtake Camden Hills 6-5 in KVAC softball action Saturday.

The Blue Devils (5-10) entered the final inning trailing the Windjammers 5-2. Makenzie Anderson and Ahna Dostie both scored to get Lewiston within one run, then Madison Anderson drove in Charlotte Cloutier and Morgan Brown with a double to put the Devils up 6-5.

In the bottom of the seventh, freshman pitcher Ava Dionne held the one-run lead to finish off her first varsity victory. Dionne pitched a complete game, shutting down the Windjammers over the final four innings and finishing with four strikeouts and only two walks.

Camden Hills (3-11) scored five runs in the first three innings, including three in the fifth to take a 5-1 lead. Lewiston started chipping away at the lead in the sixth when Madison Anderson singled home Isabella Miller.

Madison Anderson finished with three RBIs and two hits. Brown had an RBI double in the third inning to go along with a single. Cloutier tallied a team-high three hits.

Camden Hills’ Kyra Anderson drove in two runs with a triple in the third and had an RBI single in the first. Violet Libby also had a pair of hits, and Kerrigan Peterson and Sierra Laukka each drove in a run.

Laukka also pitched a complete game, striking out six batters and walking five.
