The Mustangs (1-0) rallied from an early deficit to win their season opener against the Falcons (1-2) in Rumford.

Brook Federico led the charge for Monmouth, striking out 11 batters in relief after taking over in the circle in the third inning with the Mustangs down 4-1. Federico also scored four runs and had two hits. Rileigh Chase and Shanna Parsons had three hits apiece. Monmouth scored eight runs in the top of the seventh.

Mallorie Bourret hit a two-run home run in the first inning for Mountain Valley.
