EDWARD LITTLE 9, OXFORD HILLS 8, 8 INNINGS

The Red Eddies (5-7) squeaked past the Vikings (9-2) when Kassidy Lobb scored the winning run in the eighth inning in Paris.

Edward Little scored five runs in the top half of the seventh to take an 8-5 lead. In the bottom of the seventh, though, the Vikings answered with three runs to tie the game and force extras.

Lobb took over in the circle with one out in the bottom of the seventh and the bases loaded. Oxford Hills’ Maddy Miller hit a two-run single. Edward Little’s throw home was too late to get the second runner, but the catcher threw to third in time to prevent a base runner from taking an extra base. A ground out ended the inning with the scored tied at 8-8.

Lobb led off the eighth inning with a walk and scored the game-winner on a triple by Leah Thibodeau. Lobb then stranded Oxford Hills’ Miah Gallon at second in the bottom half of the inning to secure the upset victory.

Emily Horton and Amanda Raymond had a pair of hits apiece for the Red Eddies.

Oxford Hills pitcher Maddy Miller (nine strikeouts) and Chloe Estes each hit triples, while Kaydence Morse and Trinity Bernard each doubled.
