Jordan Bissonnette rushed for three touchdowns and the Spartans recovered from a 17-13 deficit with 28 unanswered points in the second half against the visiting Red Storm in Sanford.

Tylor Pitman started the rally when he caught a 38-yard TD pass from Tanner McCann in the third quarter for a 20-17 lead. An 11-yard run by Rhylen Avery put Sanford ahead 27-17 after three quarters.

Bissonnette scored his third touchdown on a 5-yard run in the fourth and Cameron Suhy had a weaving 20-yard run late in the fourth for another score. Matty Hebert rounded out five of Sanford’s six scoring drives with an extra-point kick.

The first half was back-and-forth with Scarborough scoring on two passing plays and Sanford using passing gains to set up Bissonnette on scoring runs of 6 and 2 yards. Scarborough’s Nate Glidden connected with Caleb Wandell on a 27-yard TD reception in the first quarter, and found Wandell again on a 13-yard strike in the second.

Wandell also kicked two extra points, and nailed a 42-yard FG before halftime.
