SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 6, DIRIGO 3
The Phoenix (2-5) scored three times in the top of the seventh inning to pull away in a back-and-forth matchup against the Cougars (3-3) in Dixfield.
Leah Burgess had a double and an RBI for Spruce Mountain, while Jaydn Pingree, Makinlee Holt and Jazmine Pingree each had an RBI.
Spruce Mountain took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first before Dirigo tied it in the bottom of the inning. The Cougars went up 2-1 in the bottom of the second, but Spruce Mountain scored twice in the top of the third for a 3-2 lead. Then Dirigo tied the game with a run in the bottom of the fifth.
Kallie Errington had a double and two RBIs for Dirigo.
