Justin Lucas’ first-half goal was enough for the Bucks (9-1) to earn a hard-fought win in Buckfield, their second such victory over the Saints (3-7-1) in less than a week.

Buckfield defeated St. Dom’s 2-1 last Saturday in Auburn.

Lucas’ goal was scored midway through the opening half. He received a throw-in from Nolan Keene, collected the ball off his chest near the 18-yard box, then turned and fired it into the net.

Bucks coach Kyle Rines said that the Saints played tough for the entire game and made the Bucks “earn every inch.” He added that, “Tim Ouellette and Jonathan Tangliamisu kept putting pressure on the Buckfield defense and goalie Cayden Durgin.”

Durgin finished with four saves. St. Dom’s Riley Daigle stopped eight shots, including, Rines said, “some incredible saves in some 1-on-1 situations.”
