Gavin Pellerin and Brady Pecora scored less than two minutes apart in the third period to send the Golden Trojans (1-0) past the Saints (0-1) in a season opener at Biddeford Ice Arena.

Evan Beaudette gave Thornton Academy the initial lead 50 seconds into the game, and Eric Jones tied it for St. Dom’s in the second on a power-play goal, with assists from Ben Dumais and Tim Ouellette.

Dumais drew the Saints within one in the final minute of the game, with Ouellette and Miles Frenette assisting.

Pellerin also had an assist on Beaudette’s opening goal, and Kyle Lesieur, Cam Cyr and Jake Fleurent each added an assist for Thornton. Porter Krause earned the win in goal for the Golden Trojans.

Jayden Lynn stopped 41 of 44 shots for St. Dom’s.
