TELSTAR 10, BUCKFIELD 9

TELSTAR SWEEPS BUCKFIELD: Clutch hits by Sarah Chase and Makenzie Eliot secured a sweep for the Rebels (2-2) against the Bucks (1-3) in a tightly contested doubleheader in Bethel.

Eliot drove in the game-winning run that gave Telstar a 10-9 win in the opener.

Natasha Mason, who was the winning pitcher, scored three runs and had two hits. Macie Hallett also notched two hits and scored three times, and she stole three bases.

Abigail Prokey, Cora Brewster, Emma Stevens-Belanger, who pitched a complete game, and Kayden Haylock all notched multiple hits for Buckfield.

Chase had the game-winning it in the second game, as the Rebels came from behind to win 12-10 in extra innings.

Hallett, Eliot and Payton Berry each had multiple hits, while Katie Evans and Karen Marshall also had hits. Hallett stole six bases, giving her nine in the two games combined.

Freshman pitcher Maylan Hastings went the distance for the Rebels, earning her first career victory.

Crockett pitched all seven innings for the Bucks. Crockett, Haylock and Amelia Hill each had multiple hits for Buckfield.
