Nathaniel Wainwright racked up three touchdowns and the host Cougars (1-0) pulled away in the third quarter for an 8-man Small School South victory over the Rebels (0-1) in Dixfield.

Wainwright ran for a pair of scores and picked up another one through the air. Caiden Skidgell tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Trevor Crosby, Dakota White and Owen Smith had touchdown runs of 15 and 20 yards, respectively, and Hudson Lufkin capped off Dirigo’s scoring with a 40-yard fumble recovery return for a score.

The Cougars outscored the Rebels 26-0 in the third quarter after taking a 14-6 lead into halftime.

Brody Walker threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Kimball Coolidge and Telstar also had a 60-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
