Telstar took advantage of eight Lake Region turnovers and quarterback Will Doyle threw four touchdown passes and scored a TD, leading the Rebels to a 52-0 eight-man football victory over Lake Region on Friday.
Doyle started the procession to the end zone with a 25-yard pass to Miles Lilly, then connected with Cameron Palmer for the two-point conversion. Doyle tossed a 2-yarder to Braydon Stevens for a TD and then the QB ran in the two-point conversion for a 16-0 lead in the opening quarter.
In the second quarter, Doyle hit Stevens with a 68-yard touchdown pass and Bode Leach scored on a 41-yard interception return. The Rebels took 28-0 lead into halftime.
The third quarter featured Doyle scoring on a 2-yard run and Gavinn Martin delivering a 38-yard touchdown run.
Doyle topped off the scoring with a 28-yard TD pass to Palmer. Stevens ran in the conversion.
The Rebels’ defense was equally as formidable as their offense, with Matt Dillon recovering two key fumbles.
