Wyatt Benoit threw a go-ahead touchdown pass with 22 seconds left in the first half, and the Golden Trojans (3-2) scored 20 unanswered points in the second half to pull away from the Spartans (3-1-1) in Sanford.
Mauricio Sunderland had three rushing touchdowns for Thornton, including a 58-yard rumble through traffic in the third quarter. Jackson Paradis and Henry Kenniston each added a TD run.
Brady Boissonneault had a rushing touchdown for Sanford, and Tanner McCann connected with Jordan Bissonnette on a 46-yard scoring toss.
