BASEBALL
Biddeford 5, South Portland 1
— Ernie Dore allowed just three hits and Landon Sirois hit a two-run triple as the Tigers (9-2) beat the Red Riots (7-3) in South Portland.Biddeford was held to just five hits by Hudson Iacuessa and Jude Charltray but took advantage of six errors.
Easton Healy’s sacrifice fly in the first inning drove in the lone run for South Portland.
Carrabec 17, Rangeley 7, 5 innings
— Wyatt Smith’s three hits, two runs and four RBI led the Cobras (4-5) to a five-inning victory over the Lakers (0-9) in North Anson.Smith doubled and had two singles. Logan Caldwell doubled twice and finished with four hits to go along with three runs and two RBI. Colton Scheve and Jackson Newton also drove two runs.
Zack Davis (3 2/3 innings, five strikeouts) and Newton (1 1/3 innings, two strikeouts) combined to hold Rangeley to one hit, a single by Ryder Sargent.
Freeport 3, Fryeburg Academy 2
— Jacob Cass hit a go-ahead two-run double in the fifth inning and scored the eventual winning run on a wild pitch as the Falcons (4-7) edged the Raiders (5-5) in Freeport.Fryeburg took the lead in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Rich Massey. Connor Keaten cut Freeport’s lead to 3-2 with a one-out RBI double in the seventh but was stranded at second.
Winning pitcher Dylan Meinert gave up five hits, one walk and one earned run while striking out five.
Fryeburg’s Brady Chappell also went the distance and finished with 12 strikeouts. He allowed four hits and walked one.
Lake Region 12, Wells 5
— Jaiden Meehan had three hits and four RBI, and Matthew Plummer hit a grand slam during a nine-run sixth inning for the Lakers against the Warriors (4-6) in Naples.Shane Plummer struck out 10 for Lake Region.
Caleb Moody hit a two-run homer for Wells.
Monmouth Academy 3, Madison 1
— MONMOUTH ACADEMY 3, MADISON 1: A three-run third inning propelled the Mustangs (8-2) past the Bulldogs (6-4) in Monmouth.Jake Harmon doubled and drove in two runs.
Levi Laverdiere pitched a three-hit complete game, allowing one run and striking out seven.
Jayden Horton went six innings for Madison, allowing three hits, recording five strike outs and walking two. Jaeson Almeida drove in the Bulldogs’ run in the fifth inning.
Mountain Valley 4, Lisbon 0
— Josh Pollis pitched a one-hitter as the Falcons (4-5) earned a victory over one of the top teams in Class C South by blanking the Greyhounds (7-2) in Rumford.Pollis walked three and had eight strikeouts. He also singled and scored a run.
Ty Warren doubled and had an RBI, and Kegan Jordan also drove in a run for Mountain Valley.
Cody Osmond got Lisbon’s only hit. He also pitched four innings, allowing three unearned runs, striking out five and walking two. Osmond and reliever Lincoln Matthews (two innings, three strikeouts) limited Mountain Valley to four hits.
Thornton Academy 10, Noble 9
— Colton Cross drove in three runs, Jacob Fish and Carter Moody each had two RBI, and the Golden Trojans (9-1) held off the Knights (5-6) in Saco.Carl Gregoire, Evan Ballard and Adam Dumont all drove in two runs for Noble, which erased an early 5-0 deficit, then nearly rallied again after falling behind 10-5.
York 8, Gray-New Gloucester 4
— Connor Fell had a double and a single while driving in two runs for the Wildcats (8-2) in a victory over the Patriots (6-6) in York.Robbie Hanscom also had two hits. Elliot Prince and Henry Ober singled and notched an RBI.
Griffin Richmond recorded two hits and an RBI for Gray-New Gloucester. Jacob Mulry doubled and drove in a run, and Isaac Dunn and Carter Davis each had a single and an RBI.
SOFTBALL
Carrabec 18, Wiscasset 1, 3 innings
— Karen Baker had two hits as the Cobras (9-1) beat the Wolverines (3-8) in a three-inning game in North Anson.Jillian Robinson had three strikeouts to earn the win in the circle for Carrabec.
Cony 15, Waterville 1, 5 innings
— CONY 15, WATERVILLE 1, 5 INNINGS: Suri Ramkissoon had three hits, including a double, to lead the Rams (8-4) past the Purple Panthers (0-9) in Augusta.Ramkissoon also earned the win in the circle, allowing three hits while striking out 10 batters. Brodie Barrows added two hits for Cony, including a double.
Karen-Sue Byrd and Madison Wilson had doubles for Waterville.
Gorham 10, Westbrook 0, 5 innings
— Bella McBrady pitched a three-hitter, Adyson Hutchins had two hits and two RBI, and the Rams (11-1) handled the Blue Blazes (7-4) in five innings at Westbrook.Sawyer VondeHaar and Winnie Dubail also chipped in with two hits. Lily Tukey, VonderHaar, McBrady, Lucy Dubail and Abigail Buckelew each drove in a run.
Emma Boulette had two hits for Westbrook.
Lake Region 12, Wells 8
— Haley Hamlin had three hits and two RBI, Laura Dutton and Ella Gibbons each contributed two hits and two RBI, and the Lakers (7-4) defeated the Warriors (7-6) in Naples.Gibbons belted a two-run homer, Hamlin hit two RBI singles and Dutton had an RBI double.
Kylie Corbett led Wells with two hits and three RBI. Savannah Tardiff had two hits, including a two-run homer, and Payton Fazzina added two hits and scored twice for Wells.
Monmouth Academy 10, Madison 0, 5 innings
— MONMOUTH ACADEMY 10, MADISON, 5 INNINGS: Evelyn Pelletier gave up one hit and struck out five batters to lead the Mustangs (10-0) to a win over the Bulldogs in Monmouth.Rileigh Chase had two hits, including a two-run double, for Monmouth Academy.
Madison fell to 1-8.
Poland 11, Cape Elizabeth 9
— Leksi Langevin hit a double and triple, drove in two runs and scored twice to lead the Knights (4-8) past the Capers (0-12) in Poland.The top five hitters in Poland’s lineup — Phoebe Paradis, Langevin, Carly-Ann Jarvis, Olivia Rioux and Brenna Galipea-Eldridge — all had two hits. Paradis drove in two runs and Jarvis scored twice.
Paradis also was the winning pitcher in relief, striking out 10 in 5 2/3 innings. She gave up three hits, three walks and four unearned runs.
Rylie McIntyre doubled and drove in two runs for Cape Elizabeth. Elsie Maxwell hit a single and a double.
St. Dominic 12, Valley 1, 5 innings
— Maddie Andrews pitched a two-hitter, struck out six and walked two in the Saints’ (8-3) five-inning win over the Cavaliers (5-5) in Auburn.Andrews also doubled and had two singles while driving in three runs. Chloe Croteau doubled and had two RBI. and Kassidy Cote also drove in a couple runs for St. Dom’s, which has won five straight games.
Madeline Hill had both of Valley’s hits and pitched all four innings.
Thornton Academy 18, Deering/Portland 7, 5 innings
— Emma Barnes homered, drove in three runs and scored three times as the Golden Trojans (3-6) outslugged the Phoenix (1-10) in Saco.Miya McIntosh and Sienna Eldred each had two RBI, and Sophia Bogardus was 2 for 3 with a double and three runs scored.
Deering/Portland’s Kamryn Moss was 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBI. Ruby Chase also had three hits, including a double, and Hadleigh McPartlan contributed two hits.
Yarmouth 12, Greely 6
— Adelaide Strout went 4 for 5 with three RBI, including a solo homer, and the Clippers (4-8) defeated the Rangers (10-4) in Cumberland.Julia Brown had three hits, two RBI and two runs, while Julia Lawwill added two hits and an RBI for Yarmouth.
Greely’s Katie Wallace homered among her two hits. Quinn Simpson and Mia Stewart also had two hits.
York 12, Gray-New Gloucester 2, 5 innings
— Nya Avery and Lindsay Rivers each had three hits, Hannah Cleary hit a two-run homer and the Wildcats (12-0) handled the Patriots (3-8) in five innings in York.Maddie Fitzgerald and Piper Catanese each chipped in with two hits and two RBI, Sarah Orso hit an RBI double, and Maren Robinson pitched a two-hitter.

Cheverus 18, Oxford Hills 6
— Sophia St. John tallied six goals, Scotlyn Buxton added five goals and two assists, and the Stags (8-2) cruised past the Vikings (2-6) in Portland.Cheverus also got three goals from Olivia Vigue, two from Sophia Tamulevich, and one each from Jaylee Radford and Taylor Hoglund.
Abby Marcotte led Oxford Hills with three goals. Addisyn Cabral, Lily Hammond and Gracie Hart were the other goal scorers.
Massabesic 8, Scarborough 3
— Lydia Desrochers scored four goals, Madison VanBrocklin added three, and the Mustangs (5-5) downed the Red Storm (5-6) in Waterboro.Kate Mokriski scored twice for Scarborough.
