The top-seeded Vikings (18-1) clamped down after a close first quarter and rolled past the eighth-seeded Bulldogs (3-16) in a Class AA North quarterfinal in Paris.

Oxford Hills advances to face No. 4 Hampden (11-8) in the semifinals next week at the Cross Insurance Arena.

Portland hit three 3-pointers and led 17-16 after one quarter, but Oxford Hills held the Bulldogs to 16 points combined over the next three quarters.

Sierra Carson, who earlier Wednesday was named a semifinalist for the Miss Maine Basketball award, led all scorers with 17 points. Ella Pelletier added 14, Molly Corbett had 10 and Maddy Miller contributed nine.

Baleria Yugu finished with a team-high 12 points for Portland.
