Sophia DiPhillippo had 25 assists and Summer Gammon recorded nine kills as Gorham swept previously undefeated Biddeford in a Class A volleyball match, ending the host Tigers’ 25-match winning streak.

Meryk Lewellen chipped in with eight kills for Gorham (7-2), which is ranked No. 3 in this week’s Varsity Maine poll.

Danielle Emerson had 22 assists and 13 kills for top-ranked Biddeford (8-1), the defending Class A state champion. It’s the first regular-season loss for the Tigers since the truncated 2020 season.
