Liam Sellinger tied the game with a man-up goal with 1.1 seconds to play and then assisted on Wes Merrill’s goal in overtime to lead Scarborough to a 10-9 Class A boys lacrosse win against Deering on Monday in Scarborough.

Deering led 7-3 at half with a well-balanced offensive attack and some key saves by four-year starting keeper Vinny Cavallaro, who recorded his 600th career save.

Scarborough rallied with a 5-2 edge in goals in the third quarter as Jonathan Mirehouse scored three of his game-high five goals.

Deering took a 9-8 lead into the fourth quarter. Cavallaro (10 saves) and Scarborough keeper Caeden Humpage (8 saves) kept both teams off the board in the fourth until Sellinger (2 goals, 1 assist) tied the game.

Joshua Allen and Nick Harmon also scored for the Red Storm (5-2).
Caleb Arris, Joey Foley, Corbin Burke, and Sully Toher each scored two goals for Deering (4-4) with Matt Ciampi scoring once.
