BUCKFIELD 11, FOREST HILLS 1, 5 INNINGS

BUCKFIELD — A nice hitting day propelled the Buckfield baseball team to a doubleheader sweep of Forest Hills on Saturday.

The Bucks won the opener 8-3 and then beat the Tigers 11-1 in five innings in the second game.

Brayden Jack doubled and singled for Buckfield (3-4). He also scored twice, the first the go-ahead run when he went from first base to home after a few throwing errors, which made the score 3-2.

The second run came in the sixth inning when Ryder Bragg hit a two-run single that also scored James Tyne in the bottom of the sixth, which made the lead 8-3.

Krosby Harvey also doubled and singled for the Bucks. Tyne pitched four innings to earned the win.

Gabe White took the mound for Buckfield in the second game and pitched all five innings. He struck out nine batters.

Seamus Keough doubled and tripled for the Bucks, and Harvey again had a double and a single. Buckfield, which finished with 11 hits, scored five runs in the first inning and four in the fourth.

Forest Hills’ (3-4) Aaron Obert doubled in each game, while Connor Achey and Liam Achey each had two hits in the second game.
