Ari Rustad’s second goal of the game, with 3:53 remaining, lifted the third-seeded Clippers (9-4-2) over the sixth-seeded Falcons (8-8) in a Class B South quarterfinal in Yarmouth.

The Clippers next play at No. 2 Cape Elizabeth.

Freeport struck first when Lily Welsher scored on a rebound off a penalty corner four minutes into the game. The Falcons held a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Rustad’s first goal, from Alice Donahue, tied the game in the third quarter. Her second goal was unassisted, as she sent a blast past Freeport goalie Vicki Balla (two saves).

Cassie Walsh made five saves for Yarmouth.
